Ubud Retreat

Friday May 31 – Saturday June 8, 2019

Retreat – Synonym: Withdraw to a quiet or secluded place.
Noun: An act of moving back or withdrawing.

About the yoga

When we travel we take different roads to the ones we take each day. We discover new ground, different aspects of ourselves are also revealed

By completely removing ourselves from our regular routines and daily responsibilities we also give ourselves space to become aware of our habits, our vulnerabilities, our needs and our strengths. We see ourselves more clearly. With this clarity we are better able to identify where we need work and develop tools to help ourselves both on and off the mat.

The retreat is lead by highly experienced Iyengar Yoga teacher, Tamar Kelly. Tamar has been practicing since 1995 and teaching since 1999. She holds a Junior Intermediate level 3 certification. Tamar is passionate about the Iyengar Yoga method; its depth, beauty, discipline and vividness, both physically and spiritually.

Suitable for students with a minimum of two months of Iyengar Yoga tuition. Backbends.

The program

Students arrive at the accommodation on Friday night, June 7. We officially begin the retreat on Saturday morning. Each day we will start with a one hour pranayama practice, a short juice break and then a two hour yoga practice. This is followed by a delicious and healthy breakfast. Students are encouraged to rest and relax through the day, or quietly explore the surrounding sights, spa’s and galleries. The group will come together again in the afternoon for another yoga session. The evening is free, allowing those who wish to dine out to do so, or those who want to stay quiet or retire early to follow that need.

Location and accommodation

Hidden behind the Monkey Forest of Ubud, the arts and cultural centre of Bali, along a valley of the Wos river is the setting for our 2017 Bali Yoga Retreat. Amidst lush gardens and idyllic views, elegant comfort is combined with traditional Balinese architecture and family hospitality. The picturesque and inspiring setting is a tranquil retreat from the thriving and exciting arts, crafts and culture capital of Bali, located a 1 hours drive north west of Seminyak and the international airport.

Living in harmony with the beauty of nature in the tropics is the integral to the experience of Ubud. The accommodations, all beautifully appointed with their own individual style, are all air-conditioned, but you might also enjoy laying around the pool, sitting on the verandas or in the garden with the scent of frangipani and the sounds of nature.
